Scuba Diver Course (INR 14,500)

This course is an intermediate step for earning an Open Water Diver certification. If you’re short on time and if you expect to go scuba diving primarily with a dive guide, it is a two day course which involves the following:

Scuba Diver Course - West Coast Adventures

Day 1

Reporting time: 0800hrs
Venue: West Coast Adventures

Knowledge Development – to understand basic principles of scuba diving, you will complete just the first three of five sections of the Open Water Diver course, a course video will be shown to you and you will be required to complete the knowledge review of the first three modules.

Confined Water Dives – you will be thought basic scuba skills in the comfort of a swimming pool –  just the first three of five dives of the Open Water Diver course.

Day 2

Reporting time: 0730hrs
Venue: West Coast Adventures – Dive Centre

Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore – just two of four dives of the Open Water Diver course, during your first dive you will primarily be given time to get accustomed to breathing and swimming around under the direct supervision of your Instructor. On the Second dive you get a chance to show off your newly developed skills to your Instructor. If needed you will be assisted (till you get comfortable) with any difficulties you may have.

Open Water Course (INR 20,000)

  • Begin a lifetime of underwater adventures after just four days of training with a Certified Instructor.
  • First learn about Diving in the classroom with an active classroom setting with your instructor. Q & A sessions help you understand what you are getting into and how much fun you will have while learning how to be a safe and responsible diver.
  • Next learn how to setup your very own SCUBA unit, and get into the pool to complete the confined water sessions (Pool Training). You will practice the skills that you learnt in the classroom and some more, gradually developing as a diver.
  • Once you complete the confined water sessions, it is time for your open water dives. During which the instructor will ask you to perform skills that you learnt and practiced during your confined water training. He will assess and give you tips that will help you grow into a confident diver.
  • The last part is to complete the Quiz and Final exam, after which you are officially an Open water diver
  • Please note that you need to know how to swim to complete an Open water course.

Day 1 (Theory)

Which will consist of watching the five modules of the PADI OWD videos and the corresponding knowledge reviews which will be followed with a preliminary exam (quiz).

Open Water Course - West Coast Adventures

Day 2 (Pool Sessions)

Jump into the pool to start your pool sessions, which should last around 3-5 hours. We finish 5 modules and get ready for the next 2 days of open water dives. During the pool sessions, it’s your time to get comfortable and cozy underwater, don’t be fooled by your Instructor’s “Fun n Games” approach, which is bellied by our primary concern – your safety.

The Certification is Valid all over the world and enables you to hire dive equipment and dive with a buddy who also has a PADI open water diver rating and above. You will be able to dive to a maximum depth of 18 m and eligible to enroll for your Advanced Open water Course.

Advanced Open Water Course (INR 17,000)

  • This is the second level of diver training; you need to have an open water certification to begin your advanced open water training.
  • Choose 5 adventure dives that you will complete over the course of 2 days.
  • Navigation and deep diving are mandatory, and other options include peak performance buoyancy , search and recovery, wreck diving, underwater photography, and fish id. There are more options for your adventure dives, but unfortunately we do not conduct them here in goa.
  • Your instructor will teach you special techniques for each adventure dive that you choose, and suggest various ways that you can improve yourself.

Emergency First Responder (INR 6,500)

Emergency First Response training focuses on building confidence in lay people to assist another person by providing first aid if and when the need arises. Course participants learn to follow steps for emergency care and practice applying skills in a non stressful learning environment. Participants learn how to deal with various emergencies such as shock treatment, spinal injury, burns and other such conditions. All courses are supported by self-study manuals, videos and quick reference cards to enhance learning and allow you start learning right away.

This is not a PADI certified program, it is however PADI recognized and is a required certification (this or any other First Responder courses) before starting your Rescue diver course

Primary Care (CPR)

This course teaches you the steps and techniques for handling life-threatening emergencies. You’ll practice eight skills for aiding patients who aren’t breathing, have no heartbeat, may have a spinal injury, may be in shock or who may have serious bleeding. You’ll learn to how to perform CPR and continue to monitor the patients life line, so that you provide the victim with every chance of survival in the time before emergency services arrive on the scene.

Emergency First Responder Secondary Care (First Aid)

Secondary Care (First Aid)

Because many medical conditions are not life-threatening and emergency medical services may be delayed, this course teaches you how to provide first aid that eases pain and reduces the risk of further harm. You’ll learn to assess a variety of injuries and illnesses and practice bandaging and splinting.

EFR courses meet the CPR and first aid training requirements for the PADI Rescue Diver course and all professional-level ratings. Most PADI Instructors are also Emergency First Response Instructors.

Rescue Diver (INR 18,000)

Rescue Diver Course - West Coast Adventures

The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills. Topics include:

Dive Master Course - West Coast Adventures

The PADI Dive Master course is your first level of professional training. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, you’ll fine-tune your dive skills, like perfecting the effortless hover and refine your rescue skills so you anticipate and easily solve common problems. You’ll gain dive knowledge, management and supervision abilities so you become a role model to divers everywhere.

As a PADI Dive Master, you’ll lead others as you supervise scuba diving activities and assist with diver training. Whether you want to work at a faraway dive destination or close to home at a local dive shop, the adventure of a lifetime awaits you. PADI Dive Masters are respected dive professionals who are aligned with the largest and most respected dive organization in the world – PADI.

 Pre requisites

  • PADI Rescue Divers who are at least 18 years old may enroll in the PADI Divemaster course. You also need to have:
  • Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months.
  • medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
  • At least 40 logged dives to begin the course and 60 dives to earn certification.
  • Note that qualifying certifications from other diver training organization may apply – ask your PADI Instructor.

Re-Activate (Refresher Course)

This course is for certified divers who have been away from diving for over 6 months or even  if you just feel you want to refresh your skills in a pool before you can get back into the open water. You will go over all the basic skills of the open water course and your instructor will remind you of all the procedures and techniques of diving. He will also, if necessary, bring you up to date with any modifications or changes made in the PADI course materials and diving techniques.
